Deslynn Malotana is a Cape Town-based singer, songwriter and performer whose distinctive sound blends soul, jazz, Afrosoul and R&B. Born in Johannesburg and raised with strong Eastern Cape roots, Deslynn comes from a rich musical heritage as the daughter of the late Desmond Malotana, founder and bandleader of Brenda and the Big Dudes.
A trained vocalist, Deslynn studied Vocal Performance at the Campus of Performing Arts in Cape Town and has established herself as a captivating live performer and recording artist. Her music is recognised for its heartfelt storytelling, soulful vocals and themes of love, healing and personal growth.
Deslynn has performed at prestigious events including the Cape Town International Jazz Festival, Cape Town Jazzathon, Zeitz MOCAA and the V&A Waterfront. Her versatile performances make her an excellent choice for concerts, festivals, corporate functions and private events.
