Dada Shiva is a rapper-producer based in Cape Town and Pretoria. His sound explores the construction of polarity through the projection of multiple personalities within single tracks. “Dada” is both a reference to Nas’ nickname, “Da don Dada,” and Dadaism, an art movement of the European avant-garde in the early 20th Century.

Dada just finished working on his 2nd EP at Red Bull Studios Cape Town, called Mitsubishi Nimbus Cloud: All Terrain.  “FIRE WATER” is a six track meditation on the elements and on the new age of alternative hip-hop. Visuals for the project’s main single, Die for Dada, were shot by renowned photographer and videographer Dave East who has worked extensively with British rock band, Mumford and Sons.

In addition to this, Dada Shiva recently appeared in GQ’s Personal Style Diary as well as a Nike Golf advert in partnership with major German media outlet, Highsnobiety. He also did the backtrack for the CR7 Limitless Global Campaign.

Having opened for Shane Eagle and toured Mozambique in September, Dada Shiva’s name and reach is beginning to break through into the upper stratosphere of original creativity.

With an ability to produce his own music, while being able to adapt and morph any genre under the sun, his greatness is there for all to see.
