It is not every day where an individual gets to discover who they are at a young age and live it out. One such person who is living her dreams is the amazingly talented singer Bucie.
Born Busisiwe Nolubabalo Nqwiliso in Kimberly she resided in Klerksdorp, North West where she discovered what will be known to the world as an Angelic Voice.
Music has always flowed in her veins and like breathing she hits the high notes with everything she has got.
Her journey began when she sang in the Sunday school choir at the tender age of 7 which got her serious attention for her God given talent.
In 2005, she did the Soul City soundtrack auditions and ended up singing and dancing in the Chicco produced group Maubani.
2006, she was in a June 16, youth project that was done by the highly respected; Duma kaNdlovu and on this project she had an opportunity to share the stage with top music acts such as Judith Sephuma; Tshepo Tshola; Sbongile Mngoma; Arthur Mafokate and Thembisile Mntaka cementing what was already known as a legend in the making.
She was discovered by Thandukwazi “Demor” Sikhosana who owns Demor Music and is part of afro-pop trio group Shana along with Black Coffee and Shota. Bucie’s life took a turn while in school studying music and bass guitar at Central Joburg College where Demor was a lecturer and like it was written in the stars that the moon will awaken their paths crossed and a “shooting star” was unleashed.
Because of the strong presence she possess Demor was also captivated by her voice and beautiful spirit she has and they teamed creating the full package that Bucie is. Demor said: “It was a combination of talent, amazing vocal ability and personality. From that I could just see a superstar.
“It’s rare to find an artist who encompasses all these qualities. Most of these came in handy during the recording of the album.”
What also convinced the crew that they had a winning combination was the response that the first single “Ngicel’indoda” this was evident that Bucie is what the music industry had been yearning for. Her voice is one that commands attention thus it did not take music lovers a second glance to be able to know that she has the “IT” factor.
Turn Me On’ was the first song she wrote herself and got a chance to collaborate with the mythological DJ and producer Black Coffee. The song immediately sky rocketed and received a massive response across
the borders branching into USA and United Kingdom.
In 2009 the song reached no 1 downloaded song on Traxsource earning both artist’s a name and respect around the world on the House music scene.
