Boohle, born Buhlebevangeli Hlengiwe Manyathi, is an award-winning South African singer and songwriter whose soulful, instantly recognisable voice has established her as one of the standout female vocalists in contemporary Amapiano.
Born and raised in Vosloorus, Gauteng, Boohle grew up surrounded by music and began singing from an early age. Her musical roots include gospel and choral music, and she initially performed alongside her siblings in a gospel vocal group before pursuing a professional career.
Her sound brings together Amapiano, Afro-soul, Afro-house, gospel and contemporary African pop, with her warm, emotive vocals giving her music a distinctive character.
