Beatrice Marshall is one of Kenya’s most respected broadcast journalists and a highly experienced international conference moderator and MC. With more than two decades in television journalism, she has developed particular expertise in African politics, economics, diplomacy, international relations and development.
As a Global Anchor with CGTN Africa, based at the network’s African headquarters in Nairobi, Beatrice has anchored Africa Live and hosts Talk Africa, CGTN’s flagship current-affairs programme examining the political and economic issues shaping the continent.
Throughout her career, Beatrice has interviewed numerous African heads of state and major international figures, including former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, former African Union Commission Chair Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.
Her experience makes her particularly strong for high-level corporate and government events. She has moderated discussions at the World Economic Forum on Africa, Africa CEO Forum, COP22, UNCTAD 14, UN World Urban Forum and the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD). She has also covered African Union Heads of State summits, the Belt and Road Forum in Beijing and served as a lead CGTN anchor during the 2013 BRICS Summit in South Africa.
Prior to joining CGTN, Beatrice was Deputy Managing Editor and Chief Anchor at KTN Kenya, where she became one of the country’s leading television news personalities. Earlier in her career she worked with KBC and NTV and also taught Journalism and Mass Communication at United States International University (USIU) in Nairobi.
Beatrice holds a Master’s Degree in Mass Communication from the University of Leicester in the UK and speaks four languages.
