Anton Musgrave is an internationally recognised futurist, business strategist, entrepreneur and keynote speaker who challenges leaders and organisations to rethink how they approach the future.
A Senior Partner at Futureworld, Anton has spent more than three decades working with senior executives and organisations around the world, helping them understand the technological, economic, societal and market forces that are reshaping business and society.
Rather than attempting to predict the future, Anton encourages organisations to think from the future backwards. His approach asks leaders to imagine how industries, customers, technologies and societies could evolve — and then reconsider the decisions they need to make today.
His areas of expertise span futurism, innovation, emerging technology, disruption, strategy, new business models and exponential growth.
Technology, AI & Innovation
Technology is a central component of Anton’s future-focused thinking.
He explores how developments including Artificial Intelligence, automation, data, digital platforms and other exponential technologies are changing the competitive landscape and creating entirely new possibilities for organisations.
Importantly, Anton does not examine technology in isolation. He connects technological change with shifts in human behaviour, markets, business models, leadership and society, helping audiences understand the wider implications of innovation.
This makes him particularly relevant for organisations asking not simply “What will AI do?”, but rather:
“What kind of future is becoming possible — and what should we be building now?”
Future-Back Thinking
One of Anton’s distinguishing approaches is Futureworld’s future-back strategic thinking methodology.
Instead of starting with today’s business and incrementally improving it, leaders are encouraged to consider what their organisation, industry and customers could look like in the future and work backwards to identify the innovations and strategic choices required today.
This approach is particularly valuable for organisations confronting rapid technological change, new competitors, changing consumer expectations and disruption to established business models.
Anton brings considerable practical business experience to his futurist work. His career has included senior leadership positions across wealth management, law and property, including serving as Managing Director of divisions within Citadel Private Client Wealth Management and as President of a national property owners association.
He has also been involved as an entrepreneur and early-stage angel investor, giving him direct exposure to the process of turning new ideas and technologies into businesses.
International Thought Leadership
Anton has worked with executives across numerous industries including financial services, resources, FMCG, logistics and energy.
He has lectured and facilitated executive education at respected international business schools and institutions including London Business School, Oxford University’s Saïd Business School, Duke Corporate Education, the Indian School of Business and leading South African business schools. He is also currently listed as visiting faculty in Executive Education at Mahindra University.

Future Makers Relevance
Anton is particularly relevant for a Future Makers event because his message is fundamentally about actively creating the future rather than waiting for it to happen.
A strong direction for the event could be:
“Making the Future: Reimagining Everything”
The keynote could explore the convergence of AI, emerging technology, changing culture and human behaviour, and challenge the audience to identify the opportunities these shifts create.
The central message is that the future is not simply something organisations need to prepare for — leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs have an active role in creating it.
