Anne Kansiime is an internationally celebrated Ugandan comedian, actress, entertainer and content creator, widely recognised as the “Queen of African Comedy.” With a career spanning close to two decades, she has become one of Africa’s most recognisable comedic personalities, building an audience across the continent and internationally through stand-up, television and digital comedy.
Kansiime began performing professionally while studying Social Sciences at Makerere University, joining Uganda’s Theatre Factory and later Fun Factory. Her transition from live theatre to short-form online comedy proved transformational. Her relatable sketches, expressive performance style and observations about relationships, family and everyday African life attracted millions of viewers and helped establish her as one of the continent’s early digital-comedy success stories.
