Angel Campey is a stand-up comedian that broke into the comedy scene in 2011 on Long Street, Cape Town. She has appeared on Comedy Central’s “Kings and Queens of Comedy” multiple times, she has performed at the Johannesburg International Comedy Festival, and toured to New York City in 2016, performing on some of the most famous comedy stages in the world including a trip to the JFL Comedy Festival in Montreal, Canada.  In 2015 Angel was nominated by the South African Department of Arts and Culture for an Mbokodo Award, recognising women changing the game in their industries, for Comedy.

Angel has a history in acting that started at the age of three. She received her Honours degree in Film & Media from the University of Cape Town in 2005.

She has a popular blog called Random High Fives, writes for ZAnews, Puppet Nation – the multi-award winning TV satire news show, and is a talented Master of Ceremonies and voice artist.

Angel joined Smile 90.4FM in 2017, she co-hosts The Smile Drive between 3pm and 6pm every weekday with Maurice Carpede.
