ANATII, born Anathi Bhongo Mnyango, is an acclaimed South African rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer recognised for his progressive approach to African music and his ability to move seamlessly between hip-hop, Afro-pop, amapiano, Afro-soul and contemporary African sounds.
Born in Bhisho in the Eastern Cape, ANATII demonstrated an exceptional talent for music production from a young age. Still in his teens, he began securing professional production placements, laying the foundation for a career that would eventually establish him as both a successful recording artist and highly regarded producer.
BREAKTHROUGH & CAREER
ANATII’s career has been characterised by his ability to work both behind the scenes as a producer and songwriter and at the forefront as a recording and performing artist.
His debut studio album, ARTIIFACT, was released in 2016 and featured an impressive collection of South African and international artists, including AKA, Cassper Nyovest, Nasty C, Tiwa Savage and Omarion.
He followed this with the collaborative album Be Careful What You Wish For alongside the late AKA in 2017. The project produced memorable tracks including “10 Fingers” and “Don’t Forget To Pray”, becoming an important collaboration in contemporary South African hip-hop.
In 2018, ANATII released his critically recognised solo album Iyeza, which showcased a more introspective and culturally rooted direction. Tracks including “Thixo Onofefe,” “Wena,” “Ntloni” and “Ngozi” demonstrated his ability to combine spirituality, African identity and modern production.
BOOM SZN & NEW MUSIC
ANATII entered another creative chapter with the release of BOOM SZN in 2024. The project expanded his sound further into contemporary South African dance music and amapiano while retaining the distinctive songwriting and production style that has defined his career.
The album includes tracks such as “BOOM,” “SEY’HLANGENE,” “NTOKAZI,” “WOAH WOZA,” “BLESSAH,” “GHOST GUITAR,” “MONTANA WAY” and “LET IT BREATHE.”
ANATII remains active in 2026. His latest solo release, “BLESSINGS ON ME,” arrived in April 2026, while his recent collaborations include appearances alongside artists such as Sjava, Kelvin Momo, Nkosazana Daughter, Msaki, Tony Dayimane and other leading names within South Africa’s contemporary music landscape.

Throughout his career he has worked with a broad spectrum of South African and international talent, with collaborators and associated artists including AKA, Cassper Nyovest, Nasty C, Tiwa Savage, Omarion, DJ Khaled, HHP and Lebo M.
