Alec Hogg is one of South Africa’s most established financial journalists, broadcasters and media entrepreneurs, with a career spanning more than four decades across business, investment, economics and financial markets. He is the Founder and Editor of BizNews , the independent business and investment media platform he launched in 2013. Today, BizNews reaches its audience through digital publishing, BizNewsTV, newsletters, podcasts and its annual BizNews Conference.
Hogg was previously the Founder and CEO of Moneyweb, which he established in 1997 during the early days of digital financial publishing. Moneyweb listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in 1999, and Hogg led the company for 15 years before leaving in 2012. Earlier in his career, he worked across newspapers, magazines, television and banking, including senior roles at SABC News and ABSA.
