Aaron Fuchs is a South African entrepreneur, education innovator and business leader best known as the founder of iXperience (iX), an experiential education company that bridges the gap between traditional academic learning and the practical skills required in the modern workplace.
A graduate of Yale University, Aaron earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering before beginning his professional career on Wall Street, working at SAC Capital/Point72 in emerging markets. His experience in finance exposed him to the disconnect that can exist between university education and the practical capabilities young professionals need when entering demanding careers.
Returning to South Africa, Aaron founded iXperience in Cape Town, initially focusing on intensive technology and coding programmes before expanding into areas including finance, consulting, data and career development. Today, iXperience has developed an international network of more than 4,500 alumni, with programmes combining academic learning, mentorship, internships and real-world professional experience.
Aaron’s own journey is an example of combining entrepreneurship, technology and education to solve real-world problems. From building a start-up with no established track record to developing relationships with leading universities, employers and international students, he has gained practical experience in building businesses, developing talent and preparing young people for rapidly changing careers.
He is also Co-Founder and Director of Exit Strategy, an advisory platform designed to help entrepreneurs navigate the process of preparing for and ultimately exiting their businesses. The venture draws on the experience of entrepreneurs and professionals to help business owners better understand succession, valuation, buyers and the strategic decisions required when moving into the next phase of their entrepreneurial journey.
Aaron’s background also includes high-level competitive sport. While studying at Yale, he represented the university in squash, having previously become a South African national age-group champion.
