Shotgun Fakes are a 2 piece acoustic band from South Africa with Pamela Myburgh on keyboard/piano, vocals, tom and tambourine and Stefan Myburgh on Acoustic guitar and kick drum. The duo transforms a range of popular songs spanning from the 50’s to current hits by adding their own organic elements in their performance. They get the party started with a fun, upbeat atmosphere with their rendition of songs like Ho Hey (The Lumineers) Heart of Glass (Blondie) and Wake me up (Avicii.) They also perform in a more low key, romantic setting with songs like She loves you (The Beatles) Time after Time (Cyndi Lauper) and jazz classics like Let’s fall in love.
No strangers to live performance, Shotgun Fakes were born out of the award winning South African band, ‘The Arrows’ who toured the world with performances across the US, UK, Australia and of course South Africa. Pamela and Stef composed #1 radio hit singles for the band over the last few years including the song that won the South African music award for the most played song in the country for 2014.
Shotgun Fakes is an acoustic adaptation of the music written and played by The Arrows but their repertoire mainly covers well known songs of their musical influences and common, popular favorites.
Shotgun Fakes have performed a ton of weddings, business and private functions, parties and hotel lounge gigs. Currently, they continue to write and produce songs for popular South African artists and perform regularly for private events.
