Rapelang Rabana

Rapelang is a technology entrepreneur who co-founded her first company Yeigo after graduating from the University of Cape Town with a Bachelor of Business Science (Computer Science Honours). Yeigo is internationally recognized for its pioneering innovations in mobile VoIP and IP communications. Rapelang is a Global Shaper of the World Economic Forum, was the Curator of the Cape Town Hub of Global Shapers 2013/2014 and was invited to the Annual Meeting of the Forum in Davos in 2012. Rapelang also serves an Ambassador for the UN World Summit Awards promoting the use of ICT, and was selected as an Endeavor Entrepreneur. She was listed  by Forbes Africa as a ’30 under 30 Best Young African Entrepreneur’ and ’20 Young Power Women In Africa’ for 2013 and graced the cover of Forbes Africa before the age of 30.

In the course of 2013, Rapelang tapped into her long-term interest in learning and education and founded Rekindle Learning. Rapelang holds the belief that mobile and internet technology will be instrumental in solving a number of socio-economic challenges at scale. Having spent several years in telecommunications, she is has now turned her focus to learning and education.

Rapelang also Chairs of the Board of Generation Ubuntu, a not-for-profit organization providing life-saving care children living with HIV in Khayelitsha.
