Ramaine is what is referred to as a TRIPLE THREAT in Theatre, which means she can sing, dance and act with equal talent. Ramaine began performing at the tender age of 5 years old. She did her first major production at the age of 9 years old in a musical called Bugs Malone where she played Tallulah. Ramaine then joined up with a local children’s theatre group called DIE KINDERS VAN DIE SES that she toured with for four years. At the age of 12, she joined forces with Emo Adams, Alistair Isobel and Luqmaan Adams to form the group NU FANCY. The group toured South Africa along with the Rockets and PJ Powers and went on to record their first album. At the age of 16, Ramaine performed her first Tina Turner impersonation that has now become her trademark performance.
In 1996 she performed along side Duck Chowles, Wendy Oldfield and Irit Nobel in a show called the ROCK CIRCUS. The following year she did her first Tina Turner show called WHATS LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT and she also continued to sing lead female vocals in various bands on the nightclub circuit in Cape Town.
In 1997 Ramaine left South Africa to work on the hotel circuit in Dubai. She also directed, staged and choreographed shows in Dubai. She returned four years later to join up with the Barnyard Theatre where she performed in shows such as Glory Days Born To Run Natural Woman, Yesterday, Beethoven, Hollywood Rocks, Hot Chocolate, Broadway Rocks, The Fab Four Mick and Tina Big 5 (as Tina Turner). In 2008 and 2009 she performed with the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra, also in 2009 she was the opening act for George Benson and Al Jareau. In 2006 she played the role of Coco Tamara in the Afrikaans comedy series Kompleks for SABC2, she has also staged and choreographed two productions touring Europe for a Dutch production company. RAMAINE specializes in powerhouse vocals and character performing. She is able to perform all genres from ROCK to RnB. She also regularly directs, stages and choreographs for the Barnyard theatre and corporate events. Her sassy onstage personality and powerful vocal style has made Ramaine a favorite among audience members.
