Major League DJs are one the youngest biggest hip hop DJs in the country. Twins, Bandile and Banele Mbere form this entity. Born in the States, They soon moved to South Africa after the whole Apartheid era in South Africa. They were highly influenced by music at a young age, listening to Jazz, Gospel, Soul, RnB and Hip Hop music from their dad and older brother.
These boys started in the entertainment industry in 2006 by hosting events and after parties for concerts. They have hosted after parties for 50 Cent, Akon and Fat Joe and also host their own parties. The speciality of these boys lies in bringing their own unique taste to the dance floor, rising from the love of music but passion and a drive for playing. Since the start, we have built ourselves up, on top of the foundation that we made. Through intense self-marketing, the right attitude and a combination of passion, they strive to be the best they can be.
Growing up playing baseball, the name Major League was born as they believed they would play for Major League Baseball. Now they are in a major league of entertainment and there’s no looking back for the duo.
Major League DJs give you a double dose of their twin factor while deejaying by using an effect pad with looping and scratching to mix tracks during they set.
Major League target market is the middle class, all race youth of South Africans between ages 18 – 30, which can afford the lifestyle of the uptown market in the north of Johannesburg but they can accommodate for all types of crowds. Major League play hip hop, pop and urban electro.
