Kryptonite Dance Academy founded by: Eugene Khomanani Baloyi and Zoyi Lindiwe Muendane. These two young individuals saw a gap in the South African market for recreational activities for the youth in Pretoria.
Kryptonite Academy is an institution aimed at educating the youth in a language they understand, through dance and music, a concept, which has enriched the lives of many living in impoverished areas around the world.
Kryptonite Dance Academy which is currently the home of HIP HOP WORLD CHAMPION dancers. is a South African based dance academy situated in the heart of Gauteng. We specialize in brining South African urban dancing to the world.
Kryptonite started out as a humble dance crew taking the world by storm. Winning the prestigious IDO (International Dance Organisation) World Hip Hop adult Small Group title not only once but two consecutive times(2011-2012) and in the same year also won the World Hip Hop junior small group title(2011), making us the First African dance crew to win this title consecutively while competing against the world’s best dancers from 85 countries.
Based off our achievements we have been invited by the International Dance Organisation to represent South Africa at the World Dance Sport Federation Games in Kaohsiung hosted in Taiwan Taipei making us the first Hip Hop dance crew to participate in the first dance Olympics.
Our academy aims to uplift our community. Dance is a recreational activity which stimulates the youth as it teaches them co-ordination, rhythm, team work and confidence.
Kryptonite crew rose from being a locally recognized street crew and transformed into a world class dance crew which is internationally recognized and respected. The crew has had the privilege of gracing a number of international stages such as Germany, Slovenia, Austria and Taiwan to name a few and also obtained opportunities to choreograph for SHOUT; a stop rape flash mob, dance in the opening of the World Anti-Doping Association (WADA), open up for Kanye West (American renowned hip hop artist) at the Castle Light Subzero concert at the dome and Choreograph and feature in the AFCON Samsung anthem for 2013 which was viewed across the continent.
We aim to bring hope to thousands of children around Gauteng and ultimately SA through the multi cultural language of Hip Hop.
