Based: Free State
David grew up in the small town of Wepener and now lives in Bloemfontein where he works as a sales rep for a printing company. Interestingly, he attended the Durban auditions for Idols and had to travel 9 hours by bus to make it there.
He started singing when he was seven with the Bloemfontein Choir, and often plays the lead roles in school plays and other productions. He is in his church band and he sang in front of big-time preacher Ron Kenoly and ended up on a DStv show.
David says he has two very good-looking sisters, the younger of the two is a professional model in UK. His talents are not limited to singing and naturally good looks however; David played provincial level hockey while at high school. He also received provincial colours for debating and at the age of 13 he received an accolade for a dramatic piece he performed at an arts festival in Bloemfontein.
Looking to the future David sees himself in a leadership role of sorts that involves teaching and motivating other people. When he talks about Idols and the music industry, David has ambitions to be a great artist. Ho does however acknowledge that he has much to learn, but that he?s going to give it his best shot.
