Chanélle worked as a full time actress for Franz Marx Films for the first five years of her career. While she took a working holiday in the UK in 2004, Chanélle worked on short films and developed a strong interest in the process behind the camera. She returned to South Africa and studied Film and Television at the Motion Picture Academy, the subjects Chanélle took were Production, Editing, Writing, and Directing with 19 distinctions in her first year. In her second year Chanélle was offered a position as an assistant and video editor for a Wildlife Cinematographer, and she gladly accepted. She travelled extensively through Namibia, making documentaries and capturing the essence of lodges for advertising purposes. The position required that she relocate to Cape Town. When her contract ended with Legends of Africa Productions Chanélle started a small production company that made in-house videos for Toyota Peninsula as well as showreels for performing artists. In the beginning of 2011, Chanélle joined an acting agency, and since then she has been acting full time again in commercials, Film and Theatre as well as Voice Over work. Currently Chanélle is involved in two Theatre Productions. Since May 2013 Chanélle has been working as a freelance Casting Director for KAYOS Casting. Chanélle is also a Puppeteer and Children’s entertainer through her entertainment company, Jolly Cherry.
